There is just something about an engagement session by the water at sunset that feels a little extra magical—and Madison + Craig’s session was exactly that.

From running along the beach with the birds flying around them to quiet moments together by the water, their engagement photos were the perfect mix of playful, romantic, and completely them.

A Sunset Engagement Session by the Water

We started their session surrounded by open skies, water, and the prettiest soft evening light. Madison + Craig were so much fun together, and one of my favorite things about their session was how naturally they could make each other laugh.

They ran down the beach hand in hand, embraced the wind, and didn’t take themselves too seriously—which is honestly one of the best things you can do during your engagement photos!

Some of my favorite images are always the ones that happen when you are simply enjoying being together. The in-between laughs, the little looks at each other, and the moments you weren’t even expecting me to capture.

The Perfect Mix of Playful + Romantic

Madison + Craig gave us the best of both worlds during their engagement session!

One minute they were running along the shoreline and laughing together, and the next, we were slowing things down for some of those sweet, quiet moments by the water.

And can we talk about that sunset?! The soft golden light mixed with the water and cloudy sky created the dreamiest backdrop for their photos.

Their simple, neutral outfits were also perfect for the setting and let the connection between the two of them—and that beautiful evening light—really shine.

You Don’t Have to Know How to Pose

If there is one thing I hope couples take away from looking through engagement photos like Madison + Craig’s, it’s that you absolutely do not need to know how to pose!

You just have to show up and be yourselves.

I’ll guide you through everything and give you prompts along the way, but the best moments happen when you can relax, laugh, move around, and focus on your person.
