Some couples make taking photos look effortless—and Lily + Kolby are definitely one of those couples. Their Ohio engagement session was full of laughter, movement, and the kind of playful moments that make you forget you’re even in front of a camera.

From walking hand-in-hand through the flowers to giving each other piggyback rides, these two brought so much personality to their engagement photos. And honestly? Those are my favorite kinds of sessions to photograph as an Ohio engagement photographer.

A Fun & Playful Engagement Session

Engagement photos don’t have to feel stiff or overly posed. In fact, I think the best engagement photography happens when you can simply be yourselves.

Lily + Kolby completely embraced that idea.

They laughed, played, ran around, and spent their Ohio engagement session simply enjoying each other. There were plenty of beautiful portraits, but some of my favorite images were the ones where they were moving, laughing, and being a little silly together.

Those are the moments that feel the most like them.

One of my favorite things about engagement photography is capturing all of those little in-between moments.

A laugh that happens between poses.

A quick kiss.

The way one person looks at the other when they aren’t paying attention.

A spontaneous piggyback ride that turns into one of your favorite photos.

Lily + Kolby gave us so many of those moments, and they made this engagement session feel incredibly natural. Their connection was easy to see, which made photographing them such a joy.

You Don’t Have to Know How to Pose
