We had the absolute joy of capturing Maddie and Alex’s engagement session in two of the most iconic and romantic spots in Columbus, Ohio: the timeless Ohio Statehouse and the lush Franklin Park Community Gardens. From classic architecture to blooming garden paths, their session was full of style, sweetness, and that effortless kind of love that makes our job such a dream.
We started the evening downtown at the Ohio Statehouse, one of our favorite locations for timeless, sophisticated engagement portraits. The neutral stone backdrop, grand columns, and soft reflective light create such an effortlessly classic feel — and Maddie and Alex brought all the elegance.
They moved through the space with such ease, stealing kisses, holding hands, and laughing in between poses. We always love when our couples bring their personalities into these shoots, and Maddie and Alex made this spot feel uniquely theirs.
Whether you’re planning a formal session or just love that modern editorial look, the Statehouse is a perfect downtown Columbus engagement location for clean lines and iconic backdrops.
From there, we transitioned to the Franklin Park Community Gardens, a dreamy and romantic setting that perfectly complemented the downtown formality. As the sun dipped lower, the gardens came alive with color and softness — and the shift in setting let us capture a more relaxed, playful side of their relationship.
The Franklin Park Conservatory area is one of our favorite spots for engagement photos in Columbus because it offers such a variety of scenery — winding garden paths, seasonal blooms, and that golden hour glow that makes everything feel magical.
Maddie changed into a breezy white dress that flowed as they walked, laughed, and soaked in the summer evening. The entire session felt peaceful and joyful — like a little preview of the beautiful marriage ahead.
