As a capture team that has seen over 100 venues, we definitely have learned what we love to see and what venues have been the easiest for not only us, but for our couples and their families. We have a few favorites, but these 2 are venues we could shoot at every weekend and not get tired of them! SO if you are looking for a wedding venue in/near the Central Ohio area, give this post a scroll!

Ivory Meadows

Ivory Meadows is located in Yellow Springs (which I know is a little farther outside of Columbus… but hear me out!) In our opinion, it is an EASY win every time! Ivory Meadows is an elegant barn that provides modern amenities such as a covered patio for cocktail hour, spacious bridal party suites, and two different outdoor ceremony options. It is the most beautiful neutral location that can be decorated for any wedding. Their max capacity is just over 300 people and it definitely feels every bit as big as it sounds. Our favorite things about this venue:

Bride and Groom Suites:

The suites are HUGE with the most beautiful natural light. They also have really beautiful mirrors that make it easy for a bunch of people to get ready at a time.

The Ceremony Space:

There are actually a couple different ceremony spots on the property and they are both GORGEOUS! If you like hills and fields and plan on getting married outside, LOOK AT IVORY MEADOWS!

The Reception Space:

This space is absolutely breathtaking. Natural light comes from every direction and the amount of space in this venue makes it VERY comfortable!

THE SUNSETS

The sun sets in the actual perfect spot for sunset portraits. Sometimes there are trees and buildings that block the last little bit of sunset… but at Ivory Meadows there is a hill that you can stand on top of to get the absolute most out of the sun!

So, basically… everything about Ivory Meadows is absolutely magical lol. If you like neutrals, sunsets, need a bigger space, and want to get ready on-site, please PLEASE go check out Ivory Meadows! It is a dream!

Swan Lake Event Center

Swan lake is a GORGEOUS venue in Powell, Ohio. The magnificent setting showcases an abundance of natural light, neutral colors and the most outdoor ceremony options in Central Ohio. Their max capacity is 300 guests and it has probably the most variety in portrait locations ever (and they let you drive a golf cart to get to everything!) There are a lot of jaw-dropping features about this venue, but these are a few of our favorite things:

Bride and Grooms Suites

Again, the getting ready spaces here are abnormally HUGE. They are the perfect size for literally every size bridal party we have seen (and we have seen a group of 12 bridesmaids… and they would have fit comfortably in here). It can be separated into two rooms – so that you can get in your dress with just your momma. AND on top of this room, the groom’s suite is equally as huge. Which is almost unheard of lol. I am super impressed with these spaces.

The variety of scenery literally SECONDS from the building

The variety here is wild… they even have 5 ceremony spaces! Which is also wild! Basically every feature of this property is absolutely breath taking and easy to photograph. If you like variety, 100% check out Swan Lake Event Center!

Reception Space

The reception venue is FULL of natural light and is gorgeously neutral. It has an attached partially covered terrace that overlooks the ponds and beautiful water features.

Swan Lake Event Center is a dream of a venue that is located SUPER close to Columbus and we LOVE shooting here! Between the variety on the property and how perfect every space is (reception, suites, ceremony) it doesn’t get much better!
